I recently attended the Prime Crime Festival in Indianapolis. It was hosted by the elegant Columbia Club. This was my first attendance at Prime Crime, which has been cancelled the last two years due to COVID. It was well worth the weight.

I was joined by fellow Derby Rotten Scoundrels, Elaine Munsch and Carol Preflatish, met many wonderful reader fans, and a host of fabulous authors.

Above, Author J. E. Irwin, a fan and me, Lynda Rees. Below, me, NY Times Bestselling Authors C. J. Box and Patricia McLinn. C. J. Box is, among other things, Executive Producer on ABC’s Big Sky which is based on his Cassie Dewell novels, as well as an EP on Spectrum Originals/Paramount TV’s Joe Pickett series.

Other authors I spent time with at this fabulous conference are Trace Conger, Molly MacRae, John Gilstrap, and Ruth Dudley Edwards. It was a small gathering for a conference, which made it easier to mingle and enjoy the company of those who attended.

I had a very successful book signing event at the Alexandria, Kentucky CRES 2022 HOLIDAY FESTIVAL. I signed a lot of books and met a lot of readers. I was thrilled to have so many fans join my VIP group. My granddaughter, author Harley Nelson, also joined me for a while. Below is a photo of the two of us, her holding Freckle Face & Blondie, one of the Middle-Grade Books we penned together. I love this fun holiday event.

Unlike last year, I was not up for an Imaginarium award in 2022. However, my dear friend, author Lynn Slaughter, won the Best Young Adult Mystery. Below is a phot of author, Dr. Lorena Peter, Lynn Slaughter, and me, Lynda Rees. The conference was also attended by many movie, gamer, and media personalities, including my writing group the Derby Rotten Scoundrels.

Another Imaginarium Winner, Ginny Patrick Smith
